Meetings are held each 3rd Tuesday of the month at Maker Works (3765 Plaza Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48108) and on Zoom starting at 7:00 p.m (6:30 per-meeting chat). There is usually a technical presentation on topics of interest to radio amateurs and a short business meeting. Meetings are open to the public.

1/21/2025 – The Ham Radio Evangelist: Preaching the gospel of amateur radio to the maker and hacker community

In 2024, Dan, KB6NU, got a grant from ARDC to teach one-day Tech classes and speak about ham radio at hacker and maker events around the country. He attended four events, and did just that. In his presentation, Dan will talk a little bit about ARDC, his grant, and his experience on the road preaching the gospel of amateur radio to hackers and makers.

Dan, KB6NU and Rick, K8BMA will be discussing their POTA activations, portable rigs, antennas, power sources, etc. They will also be bring examples of equipment to display.

5/20/2025 – DX’peditions

Dennis Ward, KT8X will be presenting about his 2023 trip and holiday style operation in Antigua, Guatemala. In addition, Dennis is a member of the Bouvet Island 3Y0K and Peter 1 3Y0L DX’pedition teams. Bouvet is currently #10 on the Club Log most wanted list and Peter 1 is #7. Dennis will have the latest updates on preparations for both these DX’peditions to share.

portable antennas he has used for POTA (Parks On The Air) activations over the past few years. His antennas are also ideal for emergency communications as well as quick deployment HOA antennas.
